This book is a bit different than what I expected. Instead of being a nice autobiography of her time spent in zoos, Betty chose to have a sort of mini coffee-table-book full of short anecdotes and photos of her most memorable animal friends. These stories and photos are all very nice and charming, and full of Ms. White's special brand of humor and passion!

So it's a short book, and a very easy read, but a nice collection of stories and photos all the same. I would even recommend this book for slightly older children to read, it would be perfect for the animal loving kid! (Ages 7-12, probably? It could be read to younger children as well!)

If you're a fan of Betty White, I recommend picking up this book as just a nice little reminder of why she's awesome.

Such a wonderful read. I am a super fan of Betty White, and this book did not disappoint.
My granddaughter loves animals and this book by Betty White tells of her beginnings as a young child going to the zoo and how she has spent her entire life supporting zoos on many levels. She read the book on a weekend and was really inspired by the depth of commitment. A great read for anyone.
I have bought everything Betty White has written. I love her writing style, positive outlook and pictures throughout book-rather than in the middle.
All books I could not put down,though I did because I didn't want my time with Betty to end!
The beautiful photographs and her commentary makes this book a must have for all animal lovers. I have never been to the LA Zoo but now I really want to go so much! She has such a gracious way with her animals that loving them and her is easy. A must have for anyone who cares to explore animal conservation!!!
I received Betty White's book, "Betty and Friends" as a Christmas gift, and I have enjoyed reading about all of her great experiences with animals at the Los Angeles Zoo. Betty's book is informative, funny, warm and encourages the reader to care about the future of all animals. I recommend this book to all who like Betty White and enjoy reading about adventures with animals.

I purchased this book as a gift for someone who loves animals and loves reading and likes Betty White as well as do I. I was very disappointed to receive this book, late for the occasion purchased as well, only to open the book and find that it's mostly pictures and hardly any reading at all. I think I would recommend this book for a child perhaps but if you are under the impression that you will be reading all kinds of stories about all kinds of animals - don't hold your breath! The pictures are wonderful but I think I could get through this book in less than an hour and I am a slow reader. Additionally, the seller this book came from had very poor communication. Totally dissatisfied with the whole thing - needless to say I returned the book which was also a painful experience. Learned my lesson on this one I guess. I would not recommend this book at all unless you just want to look at some pics of animals which you can go see online anywhere.
